By the way... I found the perfect tire for these that last and perform. BFGoodrich Long Trail TA's. Last set she had went 56K miles. And we just changed em. Obvously put the same thing back on...Want some Candy little Girl?

I have been using BF Goodrich Radial A/T on all my vehicles. The ride a bit hard, but i suspect they are the longest wearing tires on the market. I got mine for like 90 bucks each at Sears...Originally posted by Ole Unka PhilThe wifes has almost 120K on it and still drives like new.

I havn't liked what I have seen of the Long Trail. My BFG Rugged Trail have been wearing nice, but suck off road.
An 87 Pathfinder is OLD, but with 200k on it, it's still got some miles I would think. When you buy a used car, make sure you do the simple things. Check the all the fluids (oil, tranny, power steering, break). If they will let you, check the transfer case oil (if it's 4wd) and the front and rear diff fluid. You want to make sure that A. it's not burn (especially the tranny fluid) and make sure it' at the correct level. Most people when selling a car don't go through the trouble of changing the fluids right before and most don't even bother topping off (unless they have maintained the vehicle well). What you are looking for are signed that the vehicle was not maintained and / or beat realy hard.
For $600 You probably won't go wrong if the thing starts and rolls down the street.
