Digital Cameras, Suggestions?

Oh yeah, the Nikon D200 is a very nice camera. I really wish Nikon was even suggesting that they plan to offer a full frame digital SLR. I had to make the switch to Canon so I could get full frame. Tis ok, I gave a friend a couple of Nikkors for some EF glass. He's quite happy with his D200. I'm quite happy with my 5D.

How's the 5D working out for you?

Anyhow, I personally like the smaller sensor. Fewer megapixels, but that extra reach sure does come in handy.

I know I want to travel up to Scranton where there are a bunch of bald eagle nesting spots and hopefully "shoot 'em" (with a camera....) and that could come in handy.

My worst worry? Noise because of cramming too many pixels into too small of a space .

anyway, i never got the camera, and the following week's sale papers had no good deals, so hopefuklly this week.

im fine with my canon powershot A520. its a good P&S camera, and it provides higher res pictures than i need... much higher. i generally have to change the file size down to one of its lower settings, or crop it to host on photobucket and post pictures here. dont worry about getting a memory card with the camera, i picked up a 512 mb card from ebay for ~$30, and i saw someone who got a 1GB card for the same price.

if your willing to spend 209$ on the Sony W30 its 6mp with a 2inch screen and it takes great pics! Ive got the w50 . The pricing on the w50 was 249 at Frys electronics

I love it. As much as full frame is annoying, I still think it's worth it. A friend that I share a duplex and studio with has a 1Ds mk2, so I'm quite familiar with the issues of a full frame sensor. Since I love to shoot wide, and want the DoF control, it's worth it for me. That and the huge photosites and CMOS sensor give the 5D a huge noise advantage. It's hard on glass tho. I'm a fan of primes now. Only the L zooms are decent enough, and you can still tell the difference. I would not suggest full frame for most folks.
