In Ontario (Canada), a flashing green means that you get an advanced left turn for traffic in your direction (the other side still sees a red). Its cheaper than upgrading the light standard to include a left turn light, so some municipalities use it on lower traffic roads.Usually around. Usually silent.Comment

Yeah it just means that you have priority over the car in front.Originally posted by CameraGuyIn Ontario (Canada), a flashing green means that you get an advanced left turn for traffic in your direction (the other side still sees a red). Also the worst is Route 16... the way I go to Boston Paintball, some people have no idea what to do. The light is Red but it has green arrows pointin every which way.Gun: AGD eMag with LvL10

Do they? I'd guess EVERYONE knows what a flashing red means, but the fact of the matter is that virtually NOONE knows what a flashing yellow means. Certainly no one I've spoken to knows the real meaning of a flashing yellow in Quebec.Originally posted by sladeeveryone knows what a flashing red or yellow light means
Lookup your local highway code. You may be shocked...Comment

so because drivers ed does nothing but waste 30 hours reviewing what everyone already knows or going over useless things which may be asked on the written test, i shouldnt have my licence? so if i had waited an extra two years, i would magically know what a flashing green light means? while only one person on AO DOES know what it means? that thread is idiocy anyway, it has been repeatedly shown that it is driving experience, not age, that dictates the accident rate. a 16 year old who just got his licence will be just as likely to get into an accident as a 26 year old who just got his licence. it would be more effective to simply lower the permit age to 15 or 15.5 instead of 16, although even that wouldnt have a large effect, since its far different driving alone and navigating yourself than it is driving with someone else.Originally posted by RapidTransitThis thread is the reason why this is happening http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=194123
