    Car Audio

So, with the new wheels coming -- this is something I'm seriously thinking about dropping a few hundred dollars into in the next couple months. I didn't spring for the "premium" sound system from Subaru -- I'd rather do it myself..

I necessarily don't need to shake the pavement, but I would like my stuff to sound decent inside of the car with nice, punchy bass with some good highs. Looking for decent fidelity but not looking to break my bank...

Any suggestions on a decent head unit for like $150 that has iPod support? Then speakers?

There are adapters that you run to your wiring harness for ipods so you can use any head unit, for 150 check out the alpine line-up, for sub/s and amp/s i'd say check out elemental designs, they're a bit underground but great quality and great sound, won't break the bank either, i'd say get a 10" with a sealed box

the latest car audio upgrade i did was get sirius satilite radio and boy im so freakin happy. i would suggest the new s50 player for sirius, its a portable player like an ipod but it gets sirius on it. you can save, pause live radio and it is just awesome. i was about to get an ipod for my truck and other things but im glad i went and got sirius instead, maybe check it out. s50 does go about 300 bucks but well worth it. my 2 cents

You can't go wrong with a Kenwood. It may cost just a bit more but well worth the $$$ For speakers look into MA Audio for your highs. They are cheap and sound really good.
