    Glock + amp + powertools = ?!?

half an hour with a POS airsoft glock, some audio parts i had lying around, and powertools resulted in a directional microphone.

Pull back the slide to change the battery through the ejection port, adjust amp through trigger well.

Red tape is too keep trigger happy police at bay.

Next step: leads to the outside so i can change headphones easily, some rifle mic fitting, and pressure switch on handle.

    Whaddya think?

I think that if someone pointed a glock at me with red tape around the front I'd shoot them.

Yea, I was thinking of spray painting the frame a bright orange, and putting a parabolic dish on it. Try to make it look as far from a glock as possible. The amp happens to pick up any tapping on the body/frame. Anyone know how to fix this?

get some sound/vibration dampening material. something like http://www.xoxide.com/sounabmat.html but i'm sure you can find cheaper stuff.

So, after solving the equation in the thread title, I have concluded that I got a completely different solution to it than you did.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves. 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I spraypainted the frame hunter's orange today, but my sister took the digital cam to who knows where. I'm not sure the sound dampening material would work, as the microphone is picking any tapping on the body, not resonance. I'm working on getting some metal piping to make a rifle mic attachment, like

Holy hell, I average 3.7 posts a day?...I'm more pathetic than I thought I was

Sadly, its not that I have too much time on my hands, I just have no life in my dorm...

                    dorm life does get boring...

When I was at home (in highschool) I made something similar, only it was in a project box, not a glock. I built in an FM transmitter. Quite cool, but I never found a use for it seeing that I'm not a spy...

Edit: What exactly is the use of a rifle mic of that type? Wouldn't you accomplish the same thing with a collector dish instead of an array of microphones?

To eliminate tapping, you have to isolate the mic from the gun body.
