Help with night vision project

I'm making an infrared detector out of the CVS m200's, and I was wondering:

would 8 20* and 8 40* IRLEDs (1.2v) on one AA battery make the battery life too short?

not sure what to tell you, but you can get night vision fairly cheap on ebay,,,,

I know night vision is fairly cheap, but I want to build this for the hell of it.
