Went to a farm auction today and...

Came home with a Nelspot 007! Woot!

It came with 23 12 gram co2 cartridges, an original box of nelson paint in 10 round tubes as well as a couple of extra tubes, one metal 10 round one, and one 14 round cardboard tube.

It was filthy and the barrel and the inside of the barrel, feed tube, and all the guts of the gun were covered in yellow paint.

Took it all apart, had to hone out the barrel to get all the oil based paint cleaned out. Got it all cleaned up spotless, put a cartridge in it and proceeded to fire 31 shots off of one 12 gram!

I just might have to get into stock class now!

Anyone here know any good forums/websites/info on the nelspots. I'm trying to figure out how old mine is and have no clue how to go about it. It's got no serial number or anything on it other than the patent number. Also the entire thing is made of steel. I've seen on other websites where some were made of aluminum and brass as well...

Oh I forgot to post that info! Well I actually bid $25 on it, but the stupid auctioneer said someone bid before me and jumped the bid to $50...

Oh well... I'm still glad I got it!

What do you all think, should I keep it original and preserve this piece of paintball history, or should I put some upgrades on it like a pump handle, and a CA donkey for a small 3.5 ounce co2 tank.

Probably any upgrades that I do will be almost completely reverseable so I can take it back to the stock configuration if I want...

you got it for half of what you could buy it anywhere else for. then to top it off you got old paint.

if you want some upgrades for it. PM my friend "nickee finn" on here or pbnation. he has an old nelspot he picked up and the body is crap. but it has a barrel extension, ca adapter, and a pump handle. i'm pretty sure he'd be willing to part it. it would be worth asking him.
