Ok story time, I will try to keep this short, but I need to start from the begining.
About 2 years ago a fewllow firefighter was looking to get rid of a "2 year old dalmation" for free. The dalmation was a female and has never been fixed so I took her. I didnt have the money to take her and get checked out right away, but about 6 months latter I took her to my vet. Come to find out she had heart worms very bad and a ton of fluid on her lungs. I spent a little over $600 (counting the vet visits) for them to treat her only to find out that the heart worms was to bad and she still had them. About that same time, the original owners brought her papers by to us which was when we found out she was 10 years old, which made everything make since. So we decided not to put anymore money into her. She has been doing fine up until 2 weeks ago, she had gotten out of our fence and walked up to us and laid down, her eyes was glazed over, she was breathing really hard, had nasel flaring, pretty much she was in shock. She was also bleeding from her rear area. I thougth she had gotten hit by a vehicle and had internal bleeding and was going to die pretty soon. I had to go to work and my girlfriend ended up taking her to the vet (one that we dont usualy see becuse it was after hours), $250 latter the vet said she was 10 weeks pregnant with just 1 sack and aborting the fetus, they said she would need surgery that would cost around $200. So we decided we was going to put her to sleep next weekend becuse our regular vet said there was a pretty good chance she wouldnt survive the surgery/recovery. Well today (just a couple hours ago), she just had the puppy and both of them are alive and doing great. She acted like she was going to kill the puppy so we have it inside, but its feeding off of a bottel just fine. I am totaly amazed by this and just thought I would share it with everyone.
On a side note, she hasnt passed the plecenta yet so we are not 100% sure that she is done.
