I'm going to be like Echo

I want critique on my site. What do you like about the design, what do you dislike about it? I just finished it in flash and am very curious to hear what people have to say about it.

    Thanks.

Did you even take a look at it? This is not some website where I post mp3's and pictures of my room. This is good flash.

            A few points...

first, the splash entry page is cool, but don't make the main content of the site pop up in a new window - people hate that, plus the many popup blockers will likely cause issues.

second, the navigation needs to be a bit more obvious to the casual visitor... maybe make them colored and wash out when hovered - or even something else.

third, give some thought to fitting the content of the flash to window if you keep the popup, mine had a little bit of scroll left and down.

I for one despise sites built entirely out of flash. So, ya know, there you are.

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves. 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I'd make the "Flower Menu" type deal a bit more obvious.

I haven't done much in flash, only HTML / Javascript...However, if I recall correctly, isn't flash the most tedius of them all?

ok. just so you know, i'm a graduating comp sci student looking to get into web dev.

first off, i whip my mouse around too fast. i had no idea there was any navigation on your page because the flowers didn't light up fast enough as my mouse went over them. it wasn't until after i read the comments about navigation that i found out that if you hover the flowers they light up and are actually revealed as links. second, i picked the wrong flower. nothing happened. i thought everyone else was on crack. what's the lesson here? hiding your navigation behind pretty effects is bad. DO NOT use the nav that you commonly see on teaser sites for movies and games. it's annoying and nobody who wasn't already interested is going to bother looking at your site for more than a few seconds. use plain old readable text in a standard menu format.

all flash sites are bad. there are many reasons this is true. for one thing search engines only read text. if your site is comprised entirely of flash that's all the search engine will see is a call to a flash object. noone will ever find your site. try and find some really cool flash site that you saw a while ago. i'll bet that your search results don't list the actual site. all the top ranked results will be forum posts or news posts that say something about what's in the site.

popups are bad. pages with nothing but a link to launch the real page are bad. i don't care if everyone else is doing it. if all you're going to do is provide a link to enter the page what's the point of having that page in the first place? why not just, you know, serve up your real page?

it's a pretty design, and wouldn't be bad for some site where people don't care about actually providing information or services. sites for people like fashion designers, bands, people who are simply trying to promote their brand with cool looking sites this type of thing works. if you want your visitors (and to even get those visitor) to actually be able to find what they're looking for or actually do something like buy a product than this type of page fails utterly.

                          You're a decent artist.
Get rid of the splash, the main page will be fine.
Mystery Meat navigation is the worst thing you can do. It's horrible and frustrating, a new level of hell will be devoted to sending lousy web page designers there that will consist of mystery buttons, doors, and windows that promise release, but never quite deliver.

I couldn't see anything in the link area. It was just luck that my mouse stopped over one of the flowers. I had my laptop screen a little sideways, and when I moved it I could see the flowers and the face.
