    they are both good 8 inch telescopes,im not sure if the nextstar is computerized, so if u got the money go with the LX 200.

      I'll back up Yama on that. Celestron is generally considered to have better optics, Meade has better computer control.

          would the nexstar 8 by celestron be better than the LX 200 by meade?
