more talent for things like snapping, which requires LOTS of practice
also theres the "think-on-your-feet-strategy" you need. theres a lot of practice involved for just about everything; looking, moving, sliding, just about every aspect that you play

more physcally demanding- games only last 4 min or less, you have to RUN to get there FAST on a big field (assuming you play 5 or 7 man) in woods, you can sit around for hours or just wait for the enemy to come to you. also how many sppedball games do you play in an hour? a heck of alot more than woods

so far my report looks like this

Does sprinting between obstacles before doing a baseball slide behind a two foot obstacle and taking cover as your opponents spray more paint than Mako send tingles up your spine? Speedball is a sport that requires more talent and is more physically demanding than woodsball. Both variations are the same sport, just with different settings, strategies and rules. The variances between the two change the types of: apparel, markers, and attitude to each form of paintball. Speedball requires someone to be much more accurate, fast, and there are a lot more technical aspects of form and skill than Woodsball.

Physically speedball is faster and more aerobicly demanding. it requires better reflexes and hand eye coordination. you must think faster and look at different angles. speed ball is like halfbacks in soccer, always on the move and running, following the ball but keeping watch on your opponent and the man you need to cover. need really good ball ahndeling skills and quick feet, but still need to run the length of the field.

woodsball is about targeting, can you squat under a bush for the same amount of time a full game of speed ball lasts. you have to stalk the opponent and remain silent and quick. woodsball is like baseball, outfielders just stand around for about half the game and move only when the ball comes to them. but they also need to run the bases and hit the ball. this is running when your found and aiming correctly.

the skills are different but one is not better than the other. physically woodsball is probably less aerobically demanding but it still takes effert to carry more paint and stay behind barriors for longer. plus in speed ball which player are you talking about. the front man is wicked quick and runs flat out to start and is the most shot at. but the back man is the big fat loud mouth who sits in back with a ton of paint and just shoots at anything seen. woodsball everybody does everything, you all have the same slot to fill and to cover.

        my .02
good luck and sorry for the spelling

I never said either was better, Im focusing on the fact that it is more physically demanding and requires more talent, because you have to think on your feet more than in woodsball and skills like snapshooting, shooting off the break and sprinting are mandatory for the frontman (my focus since I play snake)

          thank you for your input
