What uppers? AR15's? Barrels and bolts/bolt carrier change, all else remain the same.

To go from 5.56mm to 9mm, the lower must have a pistol magazine well, and pistol capable buffer and spring. All other lower parts remain the same.

If you are talking handguns, slides between different makers models will not interchange.

Lets me just interject a few random firearm Q's rather than make a new thread:

I haven't flown civilian with a firearm in a long time....any rules currently restricting flying civilian with a high-cap mag (like a drum) in carry-on or checked bagage?

Duracoat, anybody mess with it here? How hard/easy is it or should I leave it to a pro shop?

If it is firearm related in any way, check it through. Do not attempt to get it aboard in carry on....just not worth the hassle and headache, and possible missed flight.

All firearms MUST BE DECLARED and in a hard locked case. Call whatever carrier you will be using to get THEIR policy on firearm transport, don't think you can just waltzed into the airport and take care of it there...guaranteed missed flight, among other TSA troubles.

Duracoat is as easy as airbrushing or rattle can. Tough, good looking, lots of colors. They have oven cured and air cured formulas, so it depends on how much of a hurry you are in. I used air cured, and it took about a week to be fully cured and hardened...but I still took it out to shoot as soon as it was dry to the touch

Sand lightly between coats to keep the surface and finish smooooth.....which I did not do, and it came out slightly "orange peeled". Still shiny, but obvious I didn't take the extra care.

I finished off with automotive clear coat (4 coats) from a rattle can.

If you buy a kit, make it the one with the dedicated airbrush gun and hose, which I think goes for $50-60 with paint.
