I just did something SEMI constructive

ok so last night i got the itch to make my bike look more "sporty" so i pulled out the trusty dremel and went to work

what i was going to do, was remove ALOT of the mass behind my seat and tuck the rear light a little further up.

anyways, here is a before image of my bike.

and here is the look i was going for.

well after about 2 hours of work, and lots of pictures later, i ended up with this. not a finished product yet but good enough till i get ambition again.

first a pic of the mess underneath the panels and behind the light then the after pics

    so what ya think?

i still plan on getting rid of the side reflectors and incorporating them into the blinker some how, and also getting a sleaker blinker design. although that will be a few weeks down the road probably.... gotta save for peices btw, total expense of this mod = free

I'm all for the fender eliminator stuff, but I hate to take off reflectors. It's hard enough to see a motorcycle as it is.

I think your next mod should be getting rid of the chickenstrips.

Back angle shots... dark and not the best looking, looks far better in person

in the top pic, it looks a lil rough, but i fine sanded that this morning. and the license plate covers most of it anyways

i dont want to lose the reflectors, just incorporate them into a sleaker design WITH the blinkers. or possibly have the blinkers mounted on the panel right under the seat on the far back of the tail. but thats still up in the air, thats why i left those alone for now

as for the sissy bars, yes i do intend on getting rid of them, infact i plan on getting a seat cowel some time soon. as i dont want riders on the back of my bike... honestly it takes away the excitement and enjoyment of riding for me at least

hehehe, chickenstrips are the strips of unworn rubber on the edge of the tires. You've got to lay the bike down through some corners to wear them off.

Something good to get are some frame sliders. This way if the bike skids out on you, you can avoid major damage to the engine.

haha, ive always been told the chicken strips are the handles :-D

oh well, the bike is fairly new and im still fealing it out, thats why the tire isnt exactly worn in. as for sliders... they are on the way :-D

honestly im not sure if thats legal or not, I know its there to provide a way to block stuff from flying off your back tire. You probably cant get pulled over for it but a hole cop might give you a ticket if hes had a bad day.

I've never heard about anyone ever getting in trouble for it.

I doubt the average cop would notice. I doubt most cops would even know it was against the law (if it was that is).

nah what i did is not against the laws. the license plate is still visible from a direct back view like required and i still have the yellow light from my tail light that lights it up. so its all legal

idk about that, my buddy cut his off and the cop the pulled him over mentioned that he could get a ticket for it. It doesnt really matter that the plate is visible, its supposed to stop debris and stuff off the back tire. Yes the average cop wont notice but just food for thought.
