That guy was OK, but those wheelbarrow freestylists....now those guys have talent.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves. 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

If someone had followed me and the guys I rode with they would have seen the same stuff 20 years ago.The only things I personally couldn't do was bunny hop that high and ride on the front wheel that proficiently. All the wall riding, rock walks, grinds ..etc. We were doing it.

Its a shame that I have no pics of us doing that back then. At that time it was all for the fun. You had to be in the right place and extremly lucky to get paid or even paid attention to. Matter of fact the manager of the Otasco that we liked to wall ride at regularly called the cops on us for leaving marks over 8 ft up his white wall. Not to mention the torn up knee wall we grinded on.

Wow! I never thought I'd see a BMX thread on AO!! I got back into riding flatland two years ago after being on hiatus for about 12 years. Before then, I rode religiously for about 6 years straight.

Here's a pic of me rolling a trick we call a HitchHiker:

Flatland nowadays is far different from the flatland/freestyle of the "RAD" days. It's just too bad street and vert overshadows this dicipline of riding cause flatland takes a lot of time and patience. Like with paintball, unless you do it(flatland), watching it can be quite confusing or you just miss the finer details of how the sport is played.

BTW, beballin...there's actually a great flatland scene up in NorCal. One of the top pros today, Pete Brandt, used to ride at the Clocktower in San Francisco...Now I think he rides somewhere in Fresno.

Here's a clip of a few riders 2 years ago:

All I know is, that movie made me want to learn how to ride...however that "send me an angel" song can make me cringe sometimes...sooo cheesy!!!
