need windows medial player and then its hit or miss.

windows media sucks anyway, and sucks BAD on a mac. Best to just hope the page has quicktime video. (http://www.apple.com/trailers/)

streaming wmv always cuts out on a mac, I typically download the file and play it from desktop with VLC or windows media player,

you might get MPlayer and VLC as those 2 apps play just about everything out there.

just check on www.verrsiontracker.com and do a search.

Personman ftw. Nah but macs are good for graphical processing. To us windows users, personman fits the sterotype of all our thoughts.

I can't even get WMV videos to work with Firefox on my PC half the time. Good luck making it work on a Mac.

How do you like the Macbook though? I've been wanting one since it came out.

i love this thing, its amazing. It is everything i ever wanted from a PC. Its fast (<3 the dual core) it doesnt give me any fuss, and it was not that hard to adapt to. Btw personman you may say that, but believe it or not, its more capable in my mind than any of my pc's have ever been. Also i love the fact that there isnt any crap running in the back round. it is all right there in front of you, no processes running that hog up processor speed because the pc needs to run them.

This thing rocks, and ive determined the issue of playing embedded videos is linked directly to firefox and not the mac actually. So  to firefox, but im not a fan of safari, it doesnt allow me the features that i want, including the skin that i enjoy

although posting is a little bit more annoying, id like to be able to tab and enter like i could on the pc, doesnt do the same on the mac.

If you havent figured this out yet. Applications, Utilities, Activity Monitor should give you some nice data.

There is a lot running on the machine that you are not seeing. Bring up Terminal and run "ps -Au" and you will see all the processes and the users they are running as. The difference between that and Winders is that you can easily troubleshoot a rogue process and kill it off if you need to. Gotta love unix.
