    I Need Movie Suggestions

ok, as of late i have been running out of movie titles to watch... now sure there are millions of movies to chose from, but i am picky.

movies i love to watch are movies that are usually twisted, makes you think, and a good suspensful thriller. WITH GOOD ACTING!

now when i mean twisted, i mean a movie that is some what dark and odd or strange. gives you a good curveball.

makes me think... i mean this as in, i might need some brain power to follow the movie! mtv movies... dont even come near my house with those

and the rest of my "must" are pretty self explanatory

anyways, here are some movies that i have watched lately, or that i like

    Donni Darko
    The Machinest
    The Eye (subtitled)
    Audition (subtitled)
    Requim for a Dream
    and Sin City

in no order, but those are movies i like. and own.

so anyone have any other movies that you could suggest that would some what meet those criteria? im open to anything, subtitled or not. as long as the movie doesnt have some crap plot with horrible acting and isnt for an MTV babygurl then ill pretty much give it a try

Check out The Salton Sea, The Insider, The Spanish Prisoner, True Romance, 12 Monkeys, Heat, Memento.

All of those are on my "Favorites" movie list.

I'll second that. Those movies have so many twists in them that when I was walking out of the theater towards my car I was still trying to figure everything out.

I will be the third to nominate 12 Monkeys and Memento, and the second for Dark City.

Butterfly Effect is pretty good also. Fallen is great.

Man, "12 Monkeys" wasn't that great*.
I'll agree that "Memento" was very, very good.

I actually thought "Unbreakable" wasn't bad, though it's no "Usual Suspects" or "The Sixth Sense".

Since nobody's mentioned it yet, I should toss out "K-Pax". Spacey was better in "Usual Suspects", but "K-Pax" was a good performance too. Some great lines in that one. How many doctors do you have on this planet?

It's not really in the same category, but "Reindeer Games" was pretty good. A little excessive on the vulgar language, I think, but not too darn bad.

"Fight Club" is a classic but I didn't think it lived up to the hype. I didn't have the ending ruined for me or anything but I just didn't think it was all that great of a flick.

"A Beautiful Mind" is absolutely excellent if you don't mind it being a little on the long side. I saw it without seeing the trailer or knowing anything about the plot. Best way to see if if you can help it.

Of course, those are all fairly recent.

                              * In case you plan on asking why, the first reason is that the main character(s) did too many things that seemed totally out of character for him(them). It just seems like he(they) never took 5 minutes to think things through even though there was plenty of 'downtime' between tense moments. The second reason I didn't like it much is that I'm always skeptical of apocalyptical/post-apocalyptical settings. I don't mind stretching my imagination by any means but the setting just wasn't believable. Human nature doesn't change that drastically in a few generations just because a partial extinction occurs. One thing I did like about the movie was the time paradox(es). It(they) was(were) neat, though I don't want to give anythig away in case someone hasn't seen it and wants to. It's an OK movie, but it's not that fantastic. It's also a little long for what the plot is. Long movies are fine so long as the storyline warrants it. I don't think 12 Monkeys does; it seems like there's just a lot of dead space.

After: "Crap! It's that guy with the pump!"
