AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
If you want something to think about, try Magnolia. The movie itself is kinda boring, and the scenes do not seem to be coherent, but in the end everything drops into place.
Fight Club is also a thinker... had to see the movie twice before i noticed... (spoiler so i won't tell)
Identity also has a nice twist.
Snatch if you can bare the english accent..
Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels also a bit of the same as Snatch, criminals getting into trouble and everything just does'nt go as planned...
And if you can bare german with subs i would reccomend Der Untergang... its about the last days of hitler in his bunker in berlin. Do not expect alot of twists in the story, but the acting is excellent and gives you a realistic and brutal perspective on what happend during the last days of the german reich.
Nightwatch (Nochnoy Dozer)
This movie is in russian, and is often compared to LOTR but plays in modern time. The acting is not too bad and the story is captivating. Will have 2 more sequels.
As for the movies already mentioned,
The salton sea
Memento
Pulp Fiction
Pi (really weird)
Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels also a bit of the same as Snatch, criminals getting into trouble and everything just does'nt go as planned...
Actually, Snatch is like Lock, Stock and, Two Smoking Barrels as Snatch was made second. Just being nitpicky. I also believe Lock to be the better of the two.
Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai is a great film. Forrest Whitaker is great in that one.
Way of the Gun. The one movie that makes me like Ryan Phillipe.
Se7en. Nuff said.
Battle Royale. Takeshi Kitano at his finest. Japanese film, make sure you get the uncut version.
Dead or Alive. Not the video game. Another great Japanese film.
American History X. Amazing anti-Nazi film with Edward Furlong and Edward Norton.
Pecker. John Waters film with Edward Furlong and Christina Ricci.
Hero. Amazing cinematography and action sequences.
I also agree with anything directed by Kubrick. The man was a genius. My fave is A Clockwork Orange.
I'm digging through my que and rental history for BB online:
Way of the gun is one of the best realalistic shooting movies Evar!!!!!!! If you like movies that somehow a bunch of people are conected through a random series of events then Crash is a good movie. Equilibrium and Battman Begins are also great. I've been on a classics stint here lately and just finished Bullitt (great car chase scene, great movie) and am waiting on The Getaway, Gone in 60 seconds (both the originals) 7 ups and The French Conection.
Layer Cake is a pretty good movie if you like Lock Stock and Snatch...somewhat similar in that it is set in the seedy london underworld.
4 BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!! great effing movie.....loved it.....wife loved it and she typically doesnt like action movies (i thought the acting was actually quite good too).
Payback with Mel Gibson was really good and had a neat little twist sorta kinda.
Final Cut was quite good....coulda been more suspensfull though....its one of those movies that makes you think. Count of Monticristo (sp?) and Highway man were all good James Cavizal movies.
Joy Ride i thought was fairly suspensefull and had a pretty cool twist at the end.
Drowning Mona is a funny who done-it?
Derailed was very good, but should have ended like 5 minutes before it did. And you can't go wrong with the very sexy Jen Aniston.
Weather Man was a very funny movie...much better than i thought it would be.
Just Friends was also really funny.
Tears of the sun....good Bruce Willis/millitary movie
Someone above mentioned Identity, and that was really good and if you liked that then you'll like Runaway Jurry also with John Cusak
You can never go wrong with "They Live" with Rowdey Rod Piper...best street fight scene ever! I've come here to chew bubble gum and kick ars....and i'm all out of bubble gum
Red Eye was decent along with Into the Blue (can't go wrong with anything Jes Alba is in...cept Fantastic 4)
Serenity
Bad News Bears (the new one...everyone has seen the original).
Running Scared, with Paul Walker. Watching right now as we speak and its really damn good. Everything just goes from bad to worse and doesnt stop. this is a crazy roller coaster ride!!!!
edit: OMG!!!!! she just capped them....that was awsome.....effing amazing!!!!!
