So i got a new job and have some extra money now, I really want a new TV because my 25" from 1990 isnt cutting it anymore. Now with that being said i really want atleast a 27" if not bigger. I dont really wanna spend more than 600 either. But i really dont know what the best route to go is. Flat Pannel? Rear Projection? Do pixels go out on the flat panel tv's like on LCD monitors? Just looking for some opinions....
Buying a new TV, suggestions?

Take a look at Toshiba. They have some great options in your price range. Great quality and much cheaper than Sony. -
LG and Sony are your best bet for LCD HDTV's. I have two Sony 32" LCD Bravias, they are HDTV's. I love them. Gorgeous picture and loaded with features. I also picked up a cheap Sanyo 42" Plasma EDTV (extended resolution, maxes out at like 980 horizontal lines of resolution or something), but I'd stay away from them. Samsung is ok but they have a seirous issue with color reproduction and geometry at the edges, even on the flat panel LCD sets.
If you want the best LCD HDTV for the money, stick with LG and Sony. Next I'd look at Vizio from Sams Club. They are producing fantastic TV's at a great price. In most cases, the Vizio sets are just repackaged LG and Sony panels! Then check out Samsung. Toshiba sold out and they are no longer owned by the same company. The TV's they are producing now are pretty bad and their quality control standards are WAY down.
