Get a Lexus LS400 you can find them for around that price they last forever. You will hear a ticking noise coming from the valvetrain thats from the valve shims being worn out as the 1UZFE uses a solid lifter, err, there are no lifters so I don't know what youd call it. The entire vehicle was built to last and if you find someone who has already put new bushings read: rebuilt suspension. It will ride as smooth as a cloud.

Where do you get your information from? I've seen tons of econo-boxes go over 200k without major work even with them being beaten on.

Someone asked me to help them change a starter in one of those. After seeing that the front of the car had to come off to get to it I was like screw that. I would never buy a car that requires 6 hours of labor tto change a starter.

Do you have a clue what your talking about? Most modern vehicles will make 200K and well beyond given even a mediocre amount of maintenance and repairs. I love the theory that SUVs last longer than cars. What would that be based on?

            /Has a clue.

              Cheap car

Get a Toyota. They run forever. get an old one. If you are about to go to college you DONT want to have to have a car payment ( and want a cheap insurance price) . I PROMISE. Get something cheap, drive it untill you get out of college, then trash it, and buy whatever you want.

As for what last long I have a 96 chevy blazer with @ 250k ( I put 175K of them) miles on it. All i have fixed has been a waterpump(about 75 dollars), thermostat (about 5 dollars), alternator (rebuilt for 45 dollars), tires, brakes, oil, and the right front shock(I hit a rock, so it was my fault).

If this car last my last year of college, I am going to give it to anyone who wants it.
