    Antivirus Programs...

Alright, so now Norton is flashing really annoying ads in the bottom right corner of my screen saying "You idiot, you didn't renew your subscription!!! Pay us more money!!!" now, I never really liked Norton in the first place and since they designed a program to barely allow you to even use your computer once they aren't paid, I'd like to tell them to off. But, I don't really enjoy being "unprotected" to virus' around the net. I'd google "antivirus programs" but it seems when you do that, you only get their home pages. I was wondering what AO thought of all the other antivirus programs the world has to offer? Free or Not Free, doesn't matter.

NOD32 seems to be a good one, if i wasnt so stupid to pay for a legal version of NIS2006 i would be running that in combination with a firewall. Sygate made great firewall solutions, but they were bought out by symantec, so i cannot advise you on a good firewall solution as of yet.

When my suscripion ends, i'll probably go to NOD32 and a separate firewall.

I run AVG (free edition of course) from grisoft.com. I've run it for a year and a half on my laptop without a hitch.

AVG or Avast! are free and will work just fine.

If you are willing to pay for Antivirus software, go with NOD32.

I use both Nortons and ClamWin, together they seem to work pretty good.

                  Muahahahaha, I win!

As I was uninstalling norton, it was like a final chance at getting my money. They threw pop ups in the air like I was going to hell for uninstalling them, and every two seconds reminding me that I no longer have Norton.,..Feels like throwing the evil villain in the deep dark hole never to be remembered, as the villain screams all the way down.

                  Muahahha!

                  Thanks AO.

AVG, the best "online" scan I've found is from Panda Software.
