get a used TDI jetta, they are built to last and get amazing gas milage. Plus a diesel engine will far outlast a gas one.

I just want this stuff gone, super low prices

Properly maintained. And what do you do with one once the dealer gives up the support for them (which VW has this nasty habit of doing). Diesel is overrated, well except the mileage part.

My little VW is a great little car but its no better or wose than my Ford Ranger or my Old 1977 Dodge Van. It just as cheap to fix as any other vehical and is even cheaper to drive (better on fuel 50-55mpg). BUT on the otherhand its SLOW and not very fancy its a PLAIN JANE Its UGLY Slow and not too comfy but its a car that just seems to work

For comparisons sake my coworker had a 1988 Civic Hatch back VERY similarly optioned 9AKA NO OPTIONS LOL). Both of our cars requierd a new CV shaft and both have approximatly the same milage. My 1986 VW Golf Diesel cost me $75 for parts and about an 1hrs worth of work on the hoist (BUT it requiered use of a special VW socket). MY buddies 1988 Honda Civic cost $120 for parts and took nearly three hours to install but without any special tools. Both jobs were done on the hoist and both bought the parts from the same place. But on the other hand other jobs cost more on my VW than on his honda its all diferant.

But, but, Warbreak, who once worked on a real car, once says your wrong. Ignore the fact that anyone who knows what they are doing and has reasonable experience with cars is going to tell you basically what you have said. Hondas are easy and cheap to fix? Compared to what? Warbraeks statemeants are simple idiocy and spewing what his buddies tell him without any real knowledge himself of it. I live a ways from any major city. For parts availability and dealer support you have to give Amercian cars a big thumbs up. That being said, it may not be true if you are in a major city.

So pretty much right now I want an integra but my friend who drives an RSX demands that I get an Integra... he says he too wanted a Celica really bad but once he researched it he decided not to get it and rather get an Integra or an RSX... I still think the Celica is the car for me, ive been in love with the past year and a half, so i know im not going to get sick of it...

And about the s2000, 16-18 grand isnt really in my price range... Not to mention I wouldnt buy it anyway, i need a 4 seater simply to give people rides, because i know its going to come up. My mother has an s2000 fantastic car tho. I do love hondas, but the only civic i would consider getting is the new SI's...

Just get a honda or toyota (or any brand with a high market share in the size you're looking for) , there are so many out that most mechanics have easy access to repair parts so when you screw up your car, it'll be a quick and cheaper fix. That's the advice my cousin gave me. (he used to work at a local repair shop.)

                  .

Well, I'm in the car business, and if I were buying a car in that $ range, I'd probably go w/ the Celica if you've got your heart set on a "sports" car. Otherwise a Corolla "S" model is a great choice.

I think anyone who's shopping in that range needs to consider cost of maintenance and reliability as the two biggest factors, since you probably wont' have $ to spend on repairs and can't afford to be without.

Civics are great cars, but they tend to be primarily originally owned by kids, and let's face it... kids don't take care of cars. Most Civics I see are either ragged out or previously wrecked.
