Since my nick wasn't in the banned nick thread, I thought there was some forum issue, but then I realized I had been banned after checking my email and ending up in this thread. It's your forum, and you can ban whoever you like, that's fine with me. But why the insta-ban? Reading the forum rules I think I should have gotten a warning first. Shouldn't you have to follow the same rules for banning that we have to follow for getting banned?

PUNISHMENTS
Mild offences will probably result in a post being edited, locked, or deleted by the moderators. If a topic is locked, we will give you a quick explanation as to why. For more severe offences we will delete the post and give you a warning - maybe two. After that you will be banned. Bans last from 3 days to forever, depending on the offence and your reaction to the moderators when they try to correct your behavior.

If you find yourself banned, email the moderator or webmaster to try to work something out. We will most likely unban you if you try to work with us.

I didn't get any of that.

p.s. I realize that creating a second nick is a violation, but the catch-22 is that I can't email or PM you after I've been banned, so I have no way of trying to resolve this in any other manner.

The moderators have seen a PM as far different than a post in a public forum, I highly recommend you delete your post and PM the moderators. Circumventing a ban, even with good intention, is a perm ban.

What I said was meant to be funny, it fell well within the PG-13 stated here:

We want you to enjoy our community and interact with our moderators and members with our online forum. However, there are some rules as we strive to keep the Forum "family" orientated, and maintain a "PG-13" level of discussion. There are also some rules that are just general "netiquette".

The deletion of the post and warning would have been sufficient. I would have said, "sorry, I'll watch my caps lock key next time" and moved on. But I was banned without being given a warning or a reason, and no notice was posted in the banned member thread. AFAIC, that goes against the rules given to the members of this forum, and is an abuse of moderator powers.

The system is broken if rules aren't followed on both sides. I know for a fact that there are other people with the same opinion that I have here who just won't say it because they're afraid of a permaban.

Do what you want, I couldn't care less. However, circumventing a ban by the creation of a new SN, regardless of reasoning, and then posting in a public forum has always resulted in a perm ban in the past.

I do not ban arbitrarily, you must give me a good reason. Blatant circumvention of the filters will get you banned by me quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Substituting symbols for letters is well covered in the rules. You did it, I banned you for a week.

Hollywood needs more original movies like SOaP that are just fun to watch (Tremors is another fun movie).

Someone tried to make a serious movie. Then someone else realised it was a comedy goldmine. This ranks right below Super Troopers as of right now.
The one line from Jackson made the entire movie. Am I the only one who thought he wasn't going to say it and got annoyed?
