AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I don't know much about shottys...yet. But seems to me that if you're willing to pop 300$ for a shotty maybe ad 80$ to that and get a semi?
I know the local sportsmans has a stoger 2000 with a wicked cool benelli action for about 380$ and if I remember right it came with 2 chokes....A friend of mine bought one only 3 weeks after I drooled all over it at the store and had to admit I don't "need" one right now.
Other that, the only info I can offer you is that the local ducks unlimited guy owns a m4 benelli and a rem 870 and he uses his 870 more....?
If 2 3/4" makes your shoulder sore then you need to modify your stance, shouldering and grip. If you don't a 3" or 3 1/2" magnum will hurt like a mother. Magnums kick like a mule and will hurt if you don't have the butt firmly pulled into your shoulder and a good stance.
Have fun with the 870. The Rem 870 and the Mossberg 500 are some of the best "working" shotguns out there. With proper care it will last you for many years. Great purchase.
Okay... A few days after the fact and talking to my friends who used my gun...
we had alot of hang ups. after a shell was spent the breach wouldnt open and the breach lock thing wouldnt go up...
Is this due to just needing oil... or bad ammo? Is there such a thing as bad ammo for shotguns. Im taking it to my friends that are the true gun nuts this weekend, but wanted to hear you all's take on it.
Used Winchester universal 2 3/4 1 1/8 oz 8 shot. shot about 250 or so during the day.
(walmart stuff... $15 for 4 boxes of 25)
I used 2 3/4, 1oz, 7 1/2 shot when I had my 870. No problems at all. How much shots did you put to it since you got it? I usually break my gun down for a good cleaning after 300 rounds.
