I work for OBDII. So I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies.
Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about. But trust me.... You don't.
I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you don't know what you are talking about.
This is how bad info gets passed around.
If you dont know about the topic....Don't make yourself sound like you do.
Because some AOers believe anything they hear."Great stories! See everyone, just buy a Sydarm and become a paintball superstar!! "

... I don't know what I'm talking about... If you missed it, that's what this thread is about. It's about me trying to get the info I need to get to knowing what I'm talking about. Isn't that what threads are for? Heh I ask a question and then get drilled into the ground for it. Does that sound right to you? Me neither.Originally posted by bleachitI work for OBDII. It's an AO insider joke. I didn't get it either at first.Originally posted by paintballaddict_6... I don't know what I'm talking about... If you missed it, that's what this thread is about. I don't think you are being slammed. Most of us are generally concerned that you are not persuing the most intelligent course of action though. You gotta admit that the idea of making a stock pickup truck exceed 100mph isn't really too bright. But hey, some people will drag anything. My friends son dragged a minivan! Of course he lost control of it, crashed, totaled the van, destroyed a city fire hydrant that the town billed him $3000.00 dollars for, got a suspended license and a racing ticket (~$1000.00). Not everyone makes the best decisions in life. If you want to learn the hard way then by all means have fun. But certainly expect us to point and laugh at any of your misfortunes.
Anyway a couple of things you should take from this thread.
1) Making a truck go real fast can kill you if you don't make it capable of handling those speeds FIRST. It's an experience we are all trying to save you from.
2) Bolt on mods make noise and not much else. I've bolted an M3 exhaust and a CAI onto my BMW 328 and saw almost NO gains. It wasn't until I flashed the ECU that the car woke up.
3) Getting your vehicle to go fast takes $$$ and it's a never ending cycle. You will always want more go-fast stuff once you start. It's a slippery slope... trust me on that one.
Once you add up the cost of all the bolt on mods you will be suprised how close you come to the cost of a REAL speed modifaction like SC, boost, etc. If you are serious about making speed then you should get some good advice from a tuner shop that can print your engine, do dyno runs, etc. It is a lot less expensive in the long run.
Good Luck, let us know how it all turns out.Comment

you could drop a small block into an S-10 you can build a decent smallblock for around $1000-1500 that makes about 275-300 hp
that will increase speed ALOT.
