My personal feelings on the subject:

We will not (could not) ever forget. But the more specials I see on TV the more I think they are empowering the people that carried it out. Its still publicity. Its saying 'were still broken'. Its time to move the issue into our hearts and out of the media.

All that aside, much sympathy and prayers for the friends and families of everyone that was lost that day.

Thank you, that's exactly how i feel about seeing it in the media. It would be bad to pretend like it didn't happen, but dwelling upon it is not the right thing to do.

Anyway, like everyone else said, i feel terrible for all of the families and friends that were affected by the deaths that day (and the days directly after), and i'll be giving a moment of silence for those who lost their lives.
Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.

            RIP Scott, Paul, and John.

I agree with much of the sentiment expressed about moving on. First time since '04 I haven't taken public transportation on the 11th.

It does not take posting in an imaginary cloud for your sorrow and deep rooted sentiment to mean something.

We all remember. We will not forget.

FDNY, NYPD, we wont, cant and WILL NEVER forget.

They still want to and are trying to hit us again but remember this, for the last seven years they have FAILED or been stopped one way or the other.

Thanks for the Thread Mark, it means a lot.

Yes, mourn for those that died but absolutely reflect on why it happened. That is the only way to prevent it from happening again.

This thread IS the right place for this, you can't honor the dead if you have no comprehension of why it happened.... If you don't know why, then it could happen again.
