    Four-wheelers

My dad and I have been thinking about buying a couple four-wheelers just for recreation. We don't plan on using them a ton, so we don't find it necessary to buy top-of-the-line.

Now, we don't garbage, but something decently nice for some weekend off-roading. What do you guys recommend?

I personally have never had a problem with honda, We have had several (i ithnk the only one that we have right now os a foremna ES). With just a bit of care they will run very smoothly for a long time. However, if you want something a bit sportier i don't know to much.

sometimes you can find very good used ones on consignment at quad dealers. i have a bombardier 400 max xt and i love it. it easily goes up the extreme difficulty rated forestry trails. i also have a polaris sportsman 500 h.o. which i bought used and it has amazing get up. i have also been on the suzuki eiger and a yamaha 400 and they rode well also.

My vote goes towards Arctic Cat 4 wheelers. We've got a 500 with 4 wheel drive and a winch and it's awesome.

                  I have owned all Polaris
                  Good luck with them.
Really the only problems I ever had was when I rode them.....hard. Meaning deep mud, water, and sludge.. They would overheat since the radiator on the front would not cool properly until you sprayed it clean with a hose.

                  Artic Cats are great also.

Good to know that somone of Tom's status seeks "relief" from a sport he helped create. A sport now ruled by a single patent.

it really depends on what you want to do with it. Whether it be a sport quad or utility. I bought a yamaha warrior for 1700 and its not bad. If your going the sport route the new suzuki quadrunner is supposed to be one of the best.

I just want this stuff gone, super low prices

tell ya what, im a little pissed off.

My 06 Honda Rubicon 500 has been in the shop for over a month. A month after the warranty expired something broke. 800$ to fix. 200 parts + 600 labor???!!!!WTF?

My 06 Polaris Sportsman X2 slips out of gear sometimes, normally going down steep hills. its a 500 too... Its sucks in water though... splashing around in water up to the tires caused the airbox to fill up...?

When they work I love em, Especially my honda.
