    electronics question!

    Ok say I have a device that runs off of two 9 volt batteries and want to add a digital counter that runs off of a button battery to run off of the two 9 volts. What would I use to reduce the voltage?

    Resistors? I don't know if they cut the voltage or just the current. Enlighten me!

    The resistors will cause a voltage drop.

      V = IR

      Look up series and parallel circuits, and how to do the voltage/current divider equation. it's pretty simple. It depends on how you connect the resistor.

        Alright, sweet... now I've got some insight to that. Now another question. Do any of you know of any good websites that sell switches of all kinds, relays, and resistors at a reasonable price? Radio shack doesn't have nearly enough of a selection for my tastes!
