    22 rifle

Ok, I know enough about pistols, and have plenty. I intend to buy my daughter a starter .22 for Christmas and have pretty well eyed out one sized well for her.

That being said, aside from the Ruger 10/22 I got when I was young I don't own a .22. I am looking for a cheap shooter, though I realize I may spend some money on the rifle itself.

Requirements .22 rimfire, I prefer bolt action, suitable for a scope. Thoughts from those who know more than I do?

Any idea on a price range you are looking at? And are you looking for something lightweight or a target rifle? There are some you can pick up for $100 at wally world, but for good ones you are looking at over $500...so need a little more to work with Low end
    High(er) end

Depending on the age/size of your daughter, most of the major gun manufacturers make youth sized single shot bolt action rifles in .22 rimfire. The stocks are sized appropriately for children. Hope this gets you in the right path.

I know you said bolt, but how about a youth model Henry lever action?

The Henry Lever Action Youth Model .22 rifle is a lightweight and compact version of our Henry Lever Action rifle. It's ideal for young shooters, or for adults who desire a compact rifle in the field. Overall length is 33" and length of pull is 13". It weighs only 4½ pounds. It features our genuine

Savage or Savage Youth. Best buy for the money. TSC's .17M2 is a one hole wonder.

Look for one called a Chipmonk. Single shot bolt action. Very small. The coon hunters use then because they are so light and short.
WOW, sigs. Havent seen these in a while here on AO.
