Nascar?

After watching the superbowl last night along wit all the commercials, I realized something. Why isn't watching nascar races as exciting as their commercials??? I mean I respect the sport and all but it's just boring to watch. if they had a 2hr show like their commercial I'd probably watch it.

There's nothing I enjoy watching more than rolling billboards going 'round and 'round and 'round until I get all dizzy and start feeling funny... Damn. I need to eat some M&Ms and drink some Bud and get some viagra and buy some DuPont products...

Nascar is just rediculous! How much skill does it take to do what they do?!?! Now FIA World Rally Championship! THATS RACING!!! German Touring Car! GT3!! FIA GT Series! American LaMans!! There are 100 other driving sports that require 1000 times more out of the driver than Nascar crap. Sorry, i just hate how mainstream it is and how the other driving disciplines get little respect. And yet they hail Nascar as being all great and mean cause a car has 100lbs of stickers on it. sorry for my rant.

Wow - i got excited when I saw Nascar as a thread

Then reading the posts, nobody likes it.

Well, that's too bad. I guess it's one of those things that you need to invest some time in to see if you like it.

I've been a fan of Nascar for about 4years now, and the only other way I like to spend a Sunday is playing paintball..

NASCAR is ok for what it is, good 'ol American muscle car technology. Raw and in your face racing does take considerable skill, considering that 40 other guys are trying to bump you out of first place, literally.

Now if you want REAL racing, that would be NHRA! Let's talk about 6000 horsepower, 3.2G, nitro-methane fueled bombs trying their best to not explode in the 4.5 seconds they have to get to the end of the quarter mile! It's racing that EVERYONE has tried at least once against your buddy's car!

I find nascar rather boring on tv but my friends say that actually watching it is more exciting... kinda like horse races.

Your kidding me right? Although NASCAR may not be the most exciting sport on TV it is so amazing in person. As for your Dale statement I dont know what sport you like if any but if one of the best people to ever grace the sport died tragicly i doubt you would feal the same. There is a reason it is the fastest growing sport in the US at the moment and draws millions to the track each year.

Oh yeah because there are alot of rednecks in Michigan and San Fran and Southern Cali, and New hampshire to name a few "nothern" stops of the Winston circut. If you are implying that racing is for "rednecks" because it was started in the southern area of the US then your sayin Football and Basketball are for Rednecks as well because they are both HUGE in the South yet still draw fans in the Northern areas. Funny Last time I was at the california sppedway I didnt see 100,000 rednecks and I sure didnt see 75000 rednecks up at sears point in San Fran. Hmm funny dont ya think?

Rally racing is neat as well there is one really neat race I forgot what its called Like Seabring of Lamanz or somthing like that but it is like a 24 hour race it is really cool and I think It is formula 1 or somthin like that but Im not sure anyone here know what race I am trying to talk about and who races it?

Whats Stereotypical about you haveing an Angel bought for you I think thats cool. I think you are right on about things that people enjoy. Everyone is different I enjoy one thing someone enjoys anouther and yet someone else enjoys yet anouther. It just just shows our great diversity.
