10" come on. Spend the extra $50 and get the 12, you'll kick youself in the butt later. I did. Then I ended up going and buying another saw. On the other hand if you're looking for a good excuse to get two saws...Originally posted by bornl33tmakita 10" dual slide dual bevel compound mitter saw with a free 18v drill for 440$
4 285/75r16 bfgoodrich a/t ko's for 760$
...............aaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm spent.
I'm in agreement. My father was useing a DeWalt drill that belonged to someone who worked for him and dropped it off a ladder (this is why you don't loan tools for anyone who doesn't know). When he went to get it repaired for the guy (most people won't even bother to do so when they break your tools) he told them he dropped it and they gave him a new one. Never asked to see a receibt to prove the purchase date or anything.Originally posted by rudzdewalt ftw...great customer service, we have a service shop in the area, good warranty, if it breaks under warranty, u gets a new one..even on 900 dollar demolition hammers..
I don't do the brand loyalty thing. I think:
Milwaulkie makes the best cordless drills. I'm not ready to drop $280 on a cordless drill yet though.
Bosch makes the best grinders. I wouldn't buy anything else.
Milwaulkie, Bosch, and Porter Cable are pretty much tied for recipricating saws although prior to a few years ago it was Milwaulkie all the way. I still have my older Milwaulkie but compared to the new ones from the companies listed above it's got nothing.
Miter saws, I like the DeWalt. Makita, Hitachi, and even Ridged make some nice products. I have a DeWalt 12in Slider but I have a 12in Ridged Single Bevel that I use much more ofted because of it's size and weight.
For table saws I use a cheap Makita which has never let me down but Bosch makes one that puts them all to shame.
For ciricular saws I like Makita. I do have an older Craftsman one I bought at a garage sale that is much heavier then the new ones, made like a rock, cuts through anything without complaining even with a cheap dull blade, and refuses to die which I will continue to use until it does die.
Jig Saws are a tie between Bosch and DeWalt.Last edited by PyRo; 11-25-2006, 07:52 AM.

Mmm, discussion on tools.
I prefer DeWalt for drills.
Compund Miter Saws- We have a hitachi at our shop which has performed very well. Some of their high end stuff is not very appealing though.
Radial Arm Saws- We have 2 38 year old DeWalts in our shop. Still running extremely strong. All the yoke locks still function beautifully.
Table Saws- Hehe, we just got a new $10,000 TecnoMax from Italy last year. And a small Craftsman for the smaller projects and new people.
Recirpcoating- Milwaulkie has been good in my experience. Used a Cordless DeWalt and it was decent.
Jigsaws- Meh, don't use them much.
What did I get yesterday?
SanDisk e260 MP3 Player, AC Adaptor, Olympus FE-180 from Circuit City.
Shoes and some squeege's from PbGear.com
Macroline, Microfibre Cloth, Speedfeed, teflon tape from MacrolineGuy.com
Jacket, sweater and some pants from Kohl's.Hey, look at that! It's Santa!

We use Rigid. I love the way they are built. A lot of metal in the power tools. However I have a craftsman 19.2 and its been through hell and back and still works.
I didnt do any shopping, I dont need to. Until the day before christmas
