Thats not true. Historically speaking armed citizens (legally) normally have more firepower and competence than the average armed criminal element.

I dont see the issue with gun size. When it is ultimatley the user operating it. I doubt that once homeowners are armed with any thing from a pistol to a shot gun that criminals will go for larger weapons. IE ... crooks carrying around a Browning Automatic Rifle. That'd be a sight to see.

The logic in your arguement is compleatly out of wack, no criminal will buy a larger pistol caliber or rifle to enable him to break into an already armed household when we can go two houses down to break in on little miss hippie healingcrystals peta supporter pacifist instead.

I gotta say, if many people i know had to own a gun, they would NOT become good at using it, or even good enough to make the "safe driving" analogy.

They would probably learn how to put it in dangerous mode, pop a few rounds off, and then stick it under the pillow.

Plus, i agree, not all people should own guns. My girlfriend should not own a gun. She has a strong paranoia/mistrust of guns (several members of her family have shot themselves) and, if given a gun, would be so afraid of it that she would become a danger. She knows it's illogical, but it doesnt matter.

I agree. I'm not gonna lie: I would be a disaster with a gun. Guns have always scared me, and I'm paranoid enough to never really want anything to do with them. Me having a gun in my house would be silly, because I would keep it locked up away from me and never want to deal with it. If people want to have guns, by all means, they should have guns. I support people's rights to legally bear arms, that's cool by me... but it's not FOR me. I don't think I should HAVE to have a gun if they make me uncomfortable in my own home.

Replace the word "gun" with the word "midget" and I'd have to totally agree!

How would you feel if I was a midget? HUH?

Okay, so I'm not technically a midget. But I am 5'1".
