So how many car shows have a completely stock vehicle win, none. This is no different. No stock vehicle should ever win a contest, because your not showing that yours is better than any other one.

And paying below invoice doesnt mean much, all vehicles are listed very high. I paid less than half of what my truck was invoiced for.

Hmm lets see, my STOCK 1997 30th Anniversary Camaro has won TWO trophies at car shows, and guess what catagory...for stock modern vehicle.

Our 1967 Corvette is completely stock and preserved, it has won over 40 trophies and is documented in Corvette Handbooks and Restoration guides due to it's stock nature (Pick up a copy of Dobb's Corvette Restoration Guide).

Explain to me again why a stock vehicle should never win a trophy? Based on your assessment, all car shows should be won by the person spending the most money on modding their vehicle.

Have you ever been to a car show? Seriously, you should understand how this works.

Vehicles are divided into catagories

Stock
Modified
Car
Truck
etc.

There are even classes for "non-street legal" etc.

So in that case, every "Cruise night" in America is NULL, hell every CAR show ever held in the world is in fact.....without merit.

There is a huge difference between a stock 07 vehicle that you can walk into the dealer (TODAY) and buy and a car that is 40 years old. I will give you that. The 67 Vette should win shows as it's hard to keep a car for 40 years in good condition. Even the 97 I can see to a point, as you can not go to the dealer and buy it off the lot any mroe (and they no longer make that body style...hell they no longer make Camaros). The Z06 and SRT8...come back in 20 years and you'll have something special.

If it's about people saying that what you have is not an SUV, then I can maybe see that. The SRT8 is an SUV, more so than most of the other "SUV's" out there. Those station wagon things that they call SUV's get on my nerves. It's a Station Wagon!

The problem is the term SUV, Sport Utility Vehicle. I have no idea what that actually means! I would assume it means something that can haul gear and people to go play a sport. Or is it a sporty type vehicle that can be used as a utility vehicle, which to me means a work truck.

The CONTEST is based fully on OPINION....Prople had 5 little buttons to choose from when they picked...They pikced the one they LIKED based on whatever it is they decided some chose mods, and wheeling abilities and some choose just because its one bad looking little TJ....

and others chose the SRT..even right off the Lot it too is a sweet ride, but, obvously not by the OPINION of those who voted....

He couldnt even drive it...does that mean he couldnt win..no it didn't...and I hope its fixed BTW...because it is a sweet truck!!

I am not a sore loser. Trust me, I'm the LAST person to be sore about losing anything. My problem was with some of the comments made on here from narrow minded individuals (not you Muz or Alley!).

when you put something up to be judged, there's always going to be someone who doesnt like what you have.....seems like more of the comments were + than -

Ok so your stock corvette won trophies because it is a classic car, and has probably been restored. And yes there are stock categories, but read the rules for this show, does it say stock class anywhere? Its not like people are looking for anything when they vote, they vote strickly based on opinoins. They havent seen the vehicle in person, and probably really dont know anything about them.

And yes you can think that spending more means winning, but i have seen many vehicles win best of show with very little money put into them. And yes when you get into high end cars a lot of it comes down to who has the bigger pockets. But this show was mostly for fun, and for the average guy or girl, and his vehicles.

And yes you do have nice vehicles, but the only thing that may be a jaw dropper for me is the corvette. But i have seen many cameros that are nicer that even the new corvettes, and faster and built for a fraction of the cost.

And if I had a damn Z06 and someone had a stock civic ( mango vs. my Hybrid baby!) id sure expect the vette to win stock or not! I dont know that that accuarately portrays my thoughts but yea... sounds good.

Jeez guys just cool it. It's not as if these turnouts really matter. As several people have already said, these votes are a reflection of peoples opinions !!! Some people prefer an extremely expensive car that looks nice (even if it's stock). others prefer a modded car (even if it doesn't look like much) because they realize what they could be capable of. I say calm down and lets move on to Car Of The Month alright?
