some of the teachers and students are very snobbish
    At an Art school?
    Why thats quite amazing.
IMHO, Graphic Design cliques are the worst haven for elitist twaddle on the planet.

Rather then delay your entry into the work field by doing more school,
you might want to find a job at a newspaper or a printer and learn the craft.

Theres got to be a paper in range that needs a PS guy to help with the workflow.

^^^^ like above you can try and get into Quadgraphics, they are based is Sussex WI. I know they are a very open campany at least you can go up there and talk to a few of their employee's but I heard they start everyone on the floor.

The only name that I've heard floating around was Brooks Institute. I don't know if their any good. But thats a name that I've heard before.

i went to the art institue here in cali, and like geek said, there is alot of talent and some amazing designers, takes alot of work to just stay on the cutting edge, but last time i checked, the art center made AI kids look like rookies

I see you live in Wisconsen...check out the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. One of my best friends goes there and he loves it. It's not cheap but it's worth the money.

I believe it is called the columbus college of art and design (ccad).. it's in ohio my friend has been going there for summer class things for the past few years and he really likes it, he
plans on attending for his degree. I believe it is not that hard to get into as well, oh and 25 on ACT isn't bad at all since it is the new one. I got a 22 and it is good enough for all the colleges I have looked at.

You took your ACT lastg month an already got the scores...AMAZING those people are SOOOOO slow.

actually i took it Oct. 21st and got it 5 weeks later. and i know 25 is failry decent but i just feel i could have done better, so now it irks me knowing i could have done better. sort of a perfectionist thing i guess.

I have heard of quad graphics as my dad use to deliver stuff to them and the whole burning down thing. what exactly do they do?

as far as schools out of state. id much rather stay around the NE IL and SE WI area. as i can not afford to just move out on my own and attend school at the same time.

well they produce magizines, a countless number of everything from playboy to National Geographic. But they also do photo editing, graphic design, and pretty much everything else that goes into magizine production.

Trust me, do not work at Quad Graphics, its one of those places like Generac that really sucks to work at. If your thinking about getting into graphics id just take a couple classes at the local tech schools to see if you really want to do this. WCTC and MATC would probably be your best bet for SE WI.

I just want this stuff gone, super low prices
