    Paintball Goggles for Skiing?

I have a ski trip coming up. My ski goggles recently broke.
Can I use my paintball goggles?

My paintball goggles would be JT thermal lenses. Which I think might be better than my other ski goggles because they have the antifog double lens. I just remember my ski goggles always frosting up and that sucks a big one.

Anyone ever use thermal paintball goggles to ski with? Or shoudl I snag some oakley ski goggles off ebay?

/I'm just talking about the goggle part... not the whole paintball mask.

    I don't ski, but I don't see why they wouldn't work. I'd do it if I skied...

well, my cruddy single lens frost ski goggles got cracked. And I do have a nice set of JT thermal goggles. The only problem I see is the excessive air vents on paintball goggles.

The promise of actually seeing where I go while skiing (whout buying $80 oakley goggles) is fairly tempting. Also, incase some crazed paintball terrorist starts shooting out eyes I'll be ASTM certifiably safe

I don't think you would have any problems. Scott got into the paintball mask industry because they made BMX, Motocross and ski goggles, same with JT (though I don't think they ever made ski goggles), so I am sure the design isn't all that much different.

ya, but I'm worried mostly about all the holes on to and bottom of the mask. Most ski goggles have a bit more flex and less porting. The flex I can live without... but wouldn't that much porting render the double lens ineffective?

I'll be skiing in vermont Smuggles notch... the big runs take 40+ mins to go down and fogging up halfway down the hill is not something easily coped with.

            /why can't skiing be warm

that's why you ski in CA....snow bunnies FTW!

wear some profilers, not just the goggles, the whole mask...that way you'll look pro and people will get out of you're way

I have a pair of goggles at home (I can't remember what brand) that I used maybe twice, they are a couple years old and I still have the original packaging, I could let them go for real cheap. They are in excellent condition.

I'll try to get a picture of them if your interested.

I think I remember a story about you falling/making an fool of yourself/becoming a professional ski jumper. Are you considering straping sticks to your legs again?

I have used mine for skiing and dirtbikes, and they work alright. I have never used real ski goggles so I dont have anything to compare to. I put duct tape to prevent snow from getting to my eyes while I skied on my face. They fogged up every once and a while, but I figured it was from putting my face in the snow multiple times. I have also just used sun glasses.

                    yup... hitting the slopes again.
My g/f claims I'll need to brush up with an instructor when we get there 'cause I haven't skied in about 2 years.
                    I said

/also, i tried skiing in sunglasses, sweatpants, and a hoody once. It works well until you get outside... in the snow

instructors are for noobs and girls. I say black diamond here I come.

On a side note wasnt there someone that they tried to persecute because he went too fast down a ski slope, and killed a person (i think it was a kid). I beleive that they said he was too unexperienced to go down the "expert" slope, but he did anyways.

I've always used my JT's on the slopes. Even had some kid recognize the "warpig.com" sticker on them. I usually take off the lower face stuff, but I have left it on occasionally. Takes a little of the bite out of the wind.
