Cake vs Pie

I will say cake....Because a lot of my favorite thinks fall into the Cake Category:

Cake..
Cup Cakes (ZOMG Cake to Go!!)
Pancakes (You put on the toppings!)
Swiss Cake Rolls (You get two perfect little cake rolls!!)
Ice Cream Cake (This speaks for itself)

There is only one problem with cake:

Cake is generally baked and held together with some sort of amorphous flavorful adhesive
Pie gennerally sports a crust, either below or below and above, and is cooked in a dish-like pan. The pie crust is then stuffed or topped with a filling.

A pancake is not a cake... sorry. It's more of an americanized crepe, it only has the word cake in its name... I can call a turd a lollipop but that don't make it candy.

Ice cream cake doesn't count as cake. It is a "frozen dessert" or more simply "ice cream shaped like a cylinder". It is superior to Cake... don't ever insult it again. Tecnically, I think that those Dairy Queen Pizza Treats are closer to Pie than Ice Cream - they do have crust/filling/toppings.

We bought one of these so we could easily make our own Creme Brulee at home. Works great on shrink wrap as well!
