    Looking for a new display...

So, I'm in the market for a new display for my room. I'm debating getting one 19-22'' LCD that can function as both my computer monitor and my television display, since I have an HD/DVR cable box in my room. Currently, I'm using a normal CRT monitor and a 19'' CRT TV.... Any suggestions on any displays that could function as both? I'm not looking to break the bank -- ideally, though, I'd like to find something that broadcasts in HD - 1080i at least.

*edit* this is the monitor i'm currently looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824112005

    TL;DR

Computer monitor's are much cheaper than LCD TVs. And buying a cheap TV tuner card lets the monitor serve double duty.

The things to really look at when comparing: Refresh rates, contrast ratio, resolution, and reliability.

Also... Don't rle out a nice little DLP projector!

That monitors ok, but youd be a lot better off with a 37" 1080p

Samsung has the best monitors for the money, hands down. FYI, Apple monitors are acutally Samsungs with an Apple badge.

            DON'T GET A SCEPTRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

I got one and got burn in within a few months. The best thing to do is get viewsonic. They have some good stuff. If you are willing to spend $430 got a 20" Widescreen get an Acer. They have non glare screens which a F***ING STUNNING. DEFINEATELY WORTH IT. I personally go to COSTCO get the cheapest one and take it back 6 months later for a refund because of wither dead pixels or burn in.

Look for high res and 8-5ms speed.
