Aiming is more precise, IMO.. I can never immediately snap onto a target like I could with a mouse.

Yeah, you can aim much faster with a mouse. You also have a lot more keys to bind to different actions, which makes things like crouching, running, jumping, etc easier to master.

I find game controllers to be 1000% more ergonomic. My xbox controller has 13 pushable bottons (action buttons), 2 joysticks (movement and looking/aiming), and an 8 way d-pad (for random things).

That's like having 17 assigned keys and two mouses.

I don't see a keyboard offering much advantage seeing as how I still only have 10 fingers.
Not to mention movement/looking only requires a joystick and 1 thumb (offering limitless directions) versus "W-A-S-D" and 3 fingers (offering 8 directions).

Pneumagger, you can accurately aim with a mouse at least twice as fast as you can with a joystick.

Also, a 360 controller has eight buttons. Not 17. You have A,B,X,Y,LT1,LT2,RT1,RT2. (Or A,B,X,Y,W,B,LT,RT on normal Xbox)

The D-pad isn't used in a lot of games, and you can't move and use the D-pad at the same time as you need to take your thumb off the right joystick to do so.

The Start and Select or whatever that other button are don't count. They are not gameplay buttons.

And I know you can push down the joysticks, but thats more of a hindrance than a feature. For example, in CoD, the right joystick is your look joystick and if you push it, thats melee attack. So if you hit melee attack but tweak the joystick at all, you end up looking in a new direction. It makes it much harder to aim your melee attacks when you have to worry about pushing the button down perfectly straight.

On a keyboard however, you generally use WASD to move. So take a look at your keyboard. Just within one-button reach of those keys you have 15 keys (`,1,2,3,4,Tab,Q,E,R,Caps,F,Shift,Z,X,C,V), plus the spacebar with your thumb. So thats 16 keys in addition to the four you use for movement.

Then you have your mouse. I have an MX518, which has I believe 6 buttons plus a scroll wheel (which eliminates the need to use a button to switch weapons).

In order to match that with a controller, you'd need at least 23 buttons. Thats probably more than you'd ever need, but don't try argueing that a controller can do as much as a keyboard.

Then you can get back into the fact a mouse aims much faster.

I agree that mouse/keyboard is better but I am starting to get the hang of the controllers pretty good.

Rainbow Six Vegas has put COD3 on the back burner for me right now.
