Ever wonder why Microsoft hasnt released an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, or whether the AV port was really capable of digital out? Well, heres your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console wont just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, its also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered. The 120GB drive may or may not come bundled with the kit, we dont yet know, just as we also dont yet know how much a Zephyr 360 is going to run (we imagine itll go for the same price as currently so they can keep up a little on their expanding margin). But our very kind Xbox insider seemed happy to let us know wed be able to get them "soon."

I need the big HD. My second tv only runs 1080i, so the HDMI is irrelevant. And who gives a crud about processor size. But it's nice to see that MS is striving to improve the rig. I laugh at all the people who it seems would be happier if MS NEVER addressed any complaints and upgraded the machine. I know it sucks to have the last model, but it happens with cars, tvs, essentially everything.
On another note, this is a great time to be a console gamer. My Wii rocks, and there are awesome, awesome games coming for the 360 (as if gears wasn't awesome enough). -
Doesn't 360 upscale to 1080i anyways over the VGA and compnent cables?Originally posted by SteelratI need the big HD. My second tv only runs 1080i, so the HDMI is irrelevant. So unless your TV is HDMI only, or your running a HD-DVD... This is worthless.
/unless you need a 120 GB HDD. Which is still pointless if you can sync your 360 to your PC and stream them with each other.Comment

On the 360 forums, people are already asking if their bestbuy extended warranty would allow them to trade in their old 360 for a new one, as if MS coming out with the new one somehow made their old ones "broken."Originally posted by Lohman446OMG - gamers without lives or intelligence are hilarious. Well if a 20 gb is good for you I hope you can get by with only 13gb because that is all you get out of a 20gb hard drive.Originally posted by Lohman446People are retarded, Im going to wait until I can get a Generation 1 360 for $200 and not care -frankly because 20GB has to be enough for me, and I dont have an HDTV or forsee buying one
I too thought that it would be enough but it is not. If you download a demo off of live they generally take just over 1gb each. Add games, videos, music, and movies and you have nothing left.
I do not DL music, videos, or movies and I have 10gb used."The Few Who Do Are The Envy Of The Many Who Only Stand And Watch"

Lol, I was just having a debate with my friend the other day, 360 vs ps3. Basicly we determined that the 360 owns the internet, but the ps3 dominates for graphics and playing power. It seems the 360 is catching up in that respect... I forsee the ps3 as the losing console this generation, just as GC was last time.you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

It's people like those that want to sue for everything that often lead to companies saying fine, thats it we're calling it a new name and charging twice as much again. Or the company refuses to release it and technology gets put back another 4 years.Comment
