    Fellow cigar afficionados...

What's your favorite? Include sizes, wrapper color, etc. I myself am a big fan of Ashtons and Macanudos. Favorite specs are anything with a 49-52 ring gauge and about 5.5-7". Gotta have a nice Connecticut shade wrapper too. I've got a Cusano that I'm gonana try. Anyone smoke those?

Yea I've tried those Acids. They're very flowery, almost like smoking potpurie (sp?). I kind of like the Blue Remie or the Blondie. One thing is they don't come in very long or very thick sizes. The largest gauge I've ever seen is 45 I think. And I've never seen one past 5". Not a bad taste and pretty smooth for Nicaraguans.

Acids are vile creatures in my opinion. One of the best <$5 cigar I've ever had is a Sancho Panza 'Double Maduro' La Mancha. If you're looking to go with something nicer, try a Padron, basically any kind. C.A.O. also makes some very nice cigars. You basically just have to try as many as you possibly can because every person has their own tastes.

I am mighty partial to any of the Fuente "Black Label" stuff. All the Don Carlos line of that and the Hemmingway too. If I had to chose a particular one from each of those two it would be the Don Carlos #3 and the Hemmingway Short Story. For lenght and Ring diameter and length of smoke time. I do not like to not finish a cigar so I rarely want more than a one period smoker. I am not as partial to the Opus X line but snag them for trade fodder. Got a few variants of all those in the Humidor as we speak. But anything Fuente in the Black band or Opus X is my taste. Can't tollerate the green band stuff. But otherwise, gimme a fuente any time.... including Daisy Fuente!

I too, prefer the Fuente's, and will gladly burn down a Punch.

But you will rarely see me without one of my beloved Swishers getting all slobbery for a few hours

We always called Swishers "Fishin Cigars". Which were not so much smoked but used to create a pest free zone around the face. Devoid of the dreaded Dog Pecker Gnats....

I've always been partial to Victor Sinclair's for a decent priced, mild cigar. I also love Felipe Gregorio's when I'm in the mood for a stronger bite. The Acid's are decent, but I get their cigarillo tins for a quick smoke.

Haha. My friend... I took the pic I had one too. No Idea about the cigar other than it was the same size as a 12gauge barrel... but it was good and it was a fun day.

I've seen the Sanchos but have never tried them.

And as for Fuentes... I just don't know anymore. Maybe it's bad luck, but the Fuentes I've had recently have been sub-par. I've had some good ones in the past, specifically the lighter shade medium naturals. But recently I had a maduro Chateau and it was crap. I also had a Hemingway that was a little... meh. It might have been where it was stored, I got it from some joint that I don't think knows what they're doing.

But Ashtons are definitely the best I've ever had. Oh yeah, and I agree that CAO makes some great stuff.

I ordered a box of the La Manchas from JR Cigar last month. Great smoke, even better price, and came with a free Colibri lighter to boot!

Can't go wrong with Fuente, my favorite is the Hemingway Short Story...maybe the Royal Salute or Hemingway Presidente if I'm at the beach. The Opus Xs are excellent but out of my price range for an everyday smoke. I've got two in my humidor right now (one's a barberpole figurado!) that I'm saving for a special occasion.

Oliva Serie Gs are excellent if you're on a budget...$3.10 for the Churchill at my local store. They got a 92 rating IIRC from Cigar Aficionado as well.

Ashtons are made by Fuente, and I believe all CAOs are contracted through other manufacturers.
