I am tired of being ripped off!

    Rant powers activated....

I have come to the conclusion that I have just been ripped of again in an online deal (not here). I have'nt given up on getting my money back but I am sick of this. 2 deals in a row, none of which involved major money, but the priciple of it makes me furious. I think I'm just going to have to stop dealing in used crap. I just thought a majority of the human race was still made up of honest people. Aw, hell, I guess I'm finished.

Anyone ever filed for mail fraud before? Is there a minimum for the amount of stolen money/goods to file? Is it worth the hassle?

        Awww crimey Load. That sucks.

Hey if it makes you feel any better Paintballgear.com screwed up my order as well. New stuff! And they still will not answer my emails about it.

Got one curt reply that showed the guy never even read the many I sent them. Gave me the stock "Dear customer BS please call our people and they will give you a way to spend more of your money getting the thing we sent you wrong back...but we might have to charge you more to do it and you might have to pay again for us to ship you the darn thing you wanted in the first place and told us three times what you wanted and that the order was wrong and it need ed to be fixed before we shipped but we ingnore it and didn't read our emails and sent you the wrong thing after all and so now for you to get the right $16 item it will cost you about like $30 by the time we get done screwing you for every last cent we can and ruining any possible future business we might get from you and knowing full and well you will trash us all to heck now to everyone you know and so we will in the end lose hundreds of dollars for screwing you over for a $16 item that we could easily have sent right the first time and/or fixed by sending you out the right thing and apologising for not being diligent in checking our customer service email and since we are now ignoring and not responding to any of your future emails this is just our tough luck and yours because we treat everyone like crap after we get things shipped out because we do not like to deal with problems as its distastefull to us so we just ignore them after the first excuse is not enough and we thanks for your business"

....well sort of what he said...I am reading between the lines.

        Feel better? I do...

i think we should start a service, since people here are from all over, i'm sure someone lives near him. if he lived here i'd approach him about it for you. probably not a good idea though, just thought it might get a laugh.

For the paintballgear.com issue, it's good (and fun) to know what power you may actually have over "the man". I ordered the Godfather box set from Amazon (one of the biggest "the man"s around). Showed up when expected, but one of the disc holders was cracked. I e-mailed them about it and they said they'd replace it and that I should send them back the broken one. I told them nice try, you sent me a bad one and I'm not paying for their mistake. I informed them that they could send me a call-tag for UPS to pick it up at their expense. One month later, I hadn't gotten the call tag from them and they tried via e-mail again to get me to send it back at my expense. Not gonna happen, was the reply. They said they'd send a call tag (again). Close to three months into this, I still have two box sets and only one charge against my credit card. I believe it comes down to the fact that it isn't worth their money to have UPS pick it up and ship it back when it's defective. I doubt I'll ever hear from them on it again...

Anal Intrusion #1- I sent some kid $16 for a new thermal lense because he needed the money and I felt bad. I had talked to him on IM and given him some advice on a few things. I sent the cash and he said he sent it, it was returned and he'd send it again. I have'nt seen it and his e-mail no longer exists. I think I'm going to call his parents as soon as I figure out a nice way to tell a complete stranger that their son is a thief.

Numero Dos- I guy was selling a DYE Stainless for $40. I sent him the money and a few weeks later, no barrel. I e-mailed him and he responded with "I lost your address, thank God, you e-mailed!" Now over a week and a half later I still don't appear to have a barrel. I sent him another e-mail to see if it made it to a post office. No answer... I sent another e-mail 4 days later and still no answer. I also can't seem to make his name and address match up on yahoo people search. Still working on this one as well. That's 2 in a span of 2 months!

Thanks Phil, I do feel a bit better. I guess misery loves company but I'm still pretty honked. I'll be happy to hand out addresses if anyone wants to go kick their dog for me.

I'm very cautious on deals now. About 2 months ago I bought a hood for my car for 250 from a guy in california, had a name, address, phone number... talked to him several times right. Well then i found another guy bought the same hood so we call the guy on it. He then agrees to send the other guy his money back and the hood to me. Well neither of us got anything and I filed through paypal fraud right away... they can't do a thing if the person has no money in their paypal account. So i was s out of luck. I have a detective on the case where the kid lives (i know he lives there because other people that used to hang out with him gave me another phone number to reach him at) well the detective never gets back to me anymore now... so i'm out 250 sucks heh?

I know how you feel to get ripped off. In the summer I sent a guy in New york city $20.00 U.S for a 14 inch windforce barrel and I have heard nothing from him. I have sent about 5 or 6 emails and no responce. I even try to find his phone number but no luck.

As for the kid who ripped you off I would just call his parents and tell them what happened and hope they help you out.

This is one of the reasons I love AO. I've done a bunch of deals here and I feel very safe. It could be that I try to deal w/ people who have been here a while and because AO is so addictive they wouldn't want everyone to know they screwed another AO'er. Of course I think it's because there are just good people here...mostly .
