Emos are the result of a group of out casts who tried to take the best attributes of Marilyn Manson's tight pants senation and grundge's suicides and make a great culture but it a just fail.

I think we should tolerate Emo kids. And by tolerate I mean resisting the urge to punch them in the face.

The vast majority of emo kids are self centered spoiled brats who have actually managed to find a way to pity themselves for having a semi-privledged life. Find me the counter example and I will find you someone who does not adhere to the "emo" standard.

So what is Emo, really? I hear my daughter talking about the Emo kids and asked her what it was about, which she couldn't really tell me, beyond saying that they were boys that wore girl clothes.

I gather a few things from the "stereotypical" view, but whats it really mean?

That demographic must just be located in your country then i'm afraid, or that part of it.
There are the odd emo's I don't like( as with everyone) but over here that just isn't the case.
Even chavs( if you know of them) are largly aimeable, with a few exceptions i.e. set you on fire because they find it amusing.

HAHHAHAHA this is the best thread on AO.

I just call them "hipster" kids. Tight pants, anime hair, 80's influenced clothes, listen to crappy bands no one cares about ect.

I suppose the emo tag is attached to the exceptionally wussy version of hipster kids.

Oh...You're in the UK! That helps alot, but now I'm jealous because you live in a world without true emos. I've seen emos walking around with duct tape on there necks and mouths, cheap eye linener and girl pants but you never hear of them in the U.K.
                      EDIT: Talking to Phillips

I thought an emo was someone who thinks the world is against them and they feel the need to inflict self harm as an "escape"?

                            Or am I compleatly wrong?

Also last time I checked this isen't walmart so we don't need to put a lable on everything.

ive said this this a million times but ill say it again. 95% of emo kids just dress funny, they dont actually cut their wrists or act like a prick. they usually act like any normal kid, they just dress questionably
/now, goth kids on the other hand....

goth doesn't exsist where I live anymore. The kids won't do anything as daring as being punk or goth. They were stupid pants that are so heavy with chains they have to hold them up and threaten to comit suicide at every hour it seems

But only one living thing should be allowed to be emo and that's grass so it would cut itself.
