what's his stance on immigration? whoever has the strongest stance on immigration and a strict plan for border enforcement will more than likely get my vote.

anyone hear about those 2 border patrol agents who got an 11 yr sentence in federal prison for shooting a illegal drug smuggler in the butt? unbelievable

He voted for a fence, against a double layered fence, for a triple layer fence, for immigration reform, voted against allowing federal agencies to disclose identities of legal aliens who have applied for a change in status, voted to let DHS grant temporary visas to immigrants and modify how visas are able to be renewed, voted for presenting citizenship opportunities (not blanket citizenship, but a chance to EARN it) to resident aliens and qualifying illegals, voted for an employee verification system so that illegals have a hard time getting employed, voted to exclude any language other than English in government services and provision of materials, voted to reallocate some funding to assist states in dealing with the costs associated with illegals, voted against making English the national language, voted against an employment based visa program. That about sums it up...

        Yes, I heard about that...

It is truly frightening to see that so few of our supposed leaders are serious about securing our borders... ESPECIALLY in a post 9/11 America.

The reality of the situation is that BOTH sides of the aisle are too willing to pander for their own gains. Who in their right mind would want to let just anyone into this country without some sort of background check or whatever. Seems like a recipe fro trouble on a lot of differnt levels.

With that being said... I have yet to hear any Democrat even come close to laying out any sort of plan for boarder security or the war on terror. On the other hand.. there are very few of these Republicans in congress that have done any better.

At this point in history, our nation needs a real leader. Someone with backbone, someone who can communicate with the American people, and most importantly, someone who is going to do what is right.

I have never once voted Democrate because quite frankly they scare the hell out of me. BUT if another FDR came along... I would vote for him in a second.

This Obama guy just appears to me to be another pandering twit trying to position himself to get into power. I say, get up on a mountan top and yell to the world what you stand for and rise or fall on those beleifs.

Obama did favor legislation similar to Work for Welfare while in IL IIRC... I like that idea of working or actively seeking work to get benefits. I will double check on this though...

By the way, how about Gingrich as the dark horse candidate?

/at least let him moderate the primaries

I could see him doing a whole lot of good. I would likely vote for him if he were to run.

I say bring David Palmer from the dead and make Jack Bauer his chief of staff and Tony Almeida vice president, now that's a platform I would vote for

Eh, I don't like his stances on, oh, just about everything. He won't get any conservative votes, plus he has the fact he is black going against him. (Anyone who says that racism won't lose him votes is an idiot).

The Republicans can pull off a win again. They have stronger candidates so far. Giuliani and McCain are both good candidates who can appeal to Republicans AND Democrats.

The Dems once again are being handed a golden opportunity yet can only find losers like Obama and Clinton to put up there.
