And I still have my good old 486 with a monochrome screen. OS or not the hardware from a mac standpoint is less then satisfactory. And from what I understand vista will look just like the mac OS so it's all good. Gotta love them MS think tanks, they really have the copy cat thing figured out huh?
i love how you assume there could only be two operating systems i'm talking about, especially when i just quoted a post about linux software

but why does it lock up, turn my CPU fan on to over drive and not play mp3's that for example wmp11 plays without problems?

i'm sorry, you're right; windows is the OS with an installer for people who can't form a coherent sentence.

I just use Ares which I download from. It doesnt have many features but I always just put all my songs on random and let it go from there so I dont need much more than a shuffle option.
Why doesnt anything work for me.

You may be right. I am finding out that some Mp3's I ripped have some issues, so I am re-ripping them. That seems to take care of the winamp being able to play them issue. Now I just need to figure out why wmp 11 can't figure out that the whole CD should be displayed as a whole album and not 2 different ones.

I don't buy my music off itunes, I just use it as a player and to sync to my ipod.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...
