Pop or Soda (And where are you from)

if someone asks you if you want a soda/pop, they say "do you want a coke?" If you say yes, than they ask you what kind. Don't ask me why.

Same thing in texas ... im right smack between dallas and ftworth ...

i always just ask "what kind of coke do you want ?"... and avoid asking 2 questions...

One thing I get people cofused about is when I order an Iced Tea instead of Sweet Tea, but I've learned to learn the territory when I travel. Now my travel agent gives me the local lingo before I leave

I just thought of a local word that I should share with you guys. In La Junta, Colorado (the town east of where I live) they have a place called the Girch Center which is a mental institution for severely retarded people. It's named after the guy who founded it and had the last name of Girch.

Sooo... we go around calling stupid people girches basically calling them a retard, moron, idiot, etc.

It is my goal to make this a nationally recognized word!
