If he looks up to you as a rolemodel and you don't want him listening to a group, act like that band sucks or try to make that band seem weak or something along those lines. As the rolemodel you have the ability to help this kid. Remember that.

Exactly what I'm doin. I'm thinking of suggesting Wolfmother to him as well. I like them because they're basically a modern mix of Zeppelin/Sabbath/Tull/etc. But he may like the punk/metal sound they have.

I do have a big beef about this Goldfinger business now that I found a song of theirs entitled, "Pepsi-cola sucks". Coke is definitely made of fail and lose

Huh, I went onto Amazon and listened to some Molly and DK Murphy... not bad. I kinda like it. It's like punk rock and Irish music mixed together. I'm gonna go and suggest the kid get some DK Murphy next lol.

Goldfinger on the other hand I still don't know anything about.

Goldfinger's a punk/ska band that's actually pretty good. I love their cover of "99 Red Balloons".

I tend to like Flogging Molly better than Dropkick, but whatever. I just like the more folk-ish feel to them.

But neither are really bad bands.

Well they have different hints of those 3 in different songs. For example, Witchcraft has a very Sabbath sound for most of the song and also incorporates several Jethro Tull style flute solos. Woman is incredibly Zeppelin-like in its vocals. I really like their sound, and I'm one of those people who grumbles about modern rock. I must say though, Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphy sound pretty cool to me.

Flogging molly has probably had the most youngin's of any show i've been to (barring warped tour (gay))

Its good music, not a ton of cussing etc.
