    Help With Financial Aid

ok, this wednesday i will be filling out my FAFSA information. and frankly i believe i should be able to get a nice chunk of grants from that.

but i have heard/read that i can only get up to so much money in grants through FAFSA. i dont have the exact number but it was only around 3grand... is this true? is there a limit as to what one person can get in federal grants for schooling?

also would it be that 3 grand per semester? or is that for the year?

another note, i only grossed $18,500 last year as a single male not paying rent. i know its low, but i THINK it is NOT poverty level in the state of Illonois. if it is poverty or not... what are some options besides FAFSA when looking for grants?

i know about scholarships and student loans... but im in the cold on the grants.

    any help greatly appreciated

$3k only??? I got a hell of a lot more than that! It's all about how well you can work with an accountant to "hide" your money. I got almost $20k I think. I got another $20k in academic scholarships, so I'm only paying like $2k a year for school. You can definitely milk FAFSA for a lot. A large portion of college students never file for it so there is a lot of money to go around.

My parents did the paperwork and worked with the accountant. Definitely get an accountant to go over the paperwork with you and advise you on what you can do to maximize the amount you can get.
