    Wheel/Tire Size

Hey guys, since PBN seems unwilling to help me with anything unless they can flame for no reason at all ill ask for help here. Im getting some new wheels for my firebird since im not a huge fan of the small 14in. on it right now. Anyway, i decided to go with some good ole Cragers since im not a fan of the riced out import style wheels that are everywhere now. Narrowed my choices down to one wheel style and thats where the problem came in. I have no idea at all what backspacing, offset, or anything else would be ideal for my car. Heres a link to the only 3 sizes Summit had. I emailed them a long time back but i deleted the email on accident and my email no longer works to ask them again. Any help would be great. Thanks

you can always call up summit and ask them or go to yahoo or hotmail and create an account.

It's hard to know what size wheels you need without knowing specs of your car and what size tire you want to run. Also, you might want to try a firebird related forum
Good Choice on the wheels though

Summit knew exactly what i needed, so ive been trying to fix my email. My phone plan is somewhat limited and id rather not pay anythign id ont have to.

O yeah, its an 82 PMD Firebird.

nice wheels. those are 17x9's so i guess you could go anywhere from 245's to 275's (go with the 275's ) and as for the wheels, you could measure your stud spacing for a start.

or like etjoyride said, try a gm forum. they'll most likely give the best advice. post pics when you're done!

Thanks for the help guys. Im gonna try and find some good forums as well as fix my cookie/internet file issue (any help would be great).

I got the car last year for $1000 (it was a steal). My grandpa knew the the orignal owners dad and had done work on the car before. It had been sitting in a garage for the last 10 years. They were also the originals owners and i have all the documents for work done on the car. It had become a mouse nest so i stripped the entire interior (seriously, all of it) and replaced everything.

Only things i really have left to get are a CD player, speakers, wheel/tires, and an Air Ride suspension (you read that right). Other than that its pretty much done, just hae to put in the new headliner and waetherstripping.

Heres a few pics of the process i went through. The hardest part was getting rid of the mice/mice urine smell. lol

Ill post up a new thread when its done. I did all the work on the car by myself as well.

V6, and its gonna stay that way for a while. Although i like more power the cost for gas just isnt worth it right now.

That helps a ton but they dont carry any crager wheels larger than 15in thatll fit my car.

However, it did give me max dimensions for wheel size (i think) which should allow me to find out what will fit my car.

If someone knows whats below is right lmk.

Link to wheel spec ranges for my car - http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_packa...taggeredMode=0

Link to wheels i think will fit from Summit - http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...=KeywordSearch

I know what you're going through. I've been working on my project car for many years now. Its a car that my father and I have put together and I'll never get rid of it. Hang tough on your choice -- Pontiac guys are usually knocked for what we choose to drive. And when its all done -- make the doubters eat their words at the track....
