    Ebay Problem

Ok, im having a fedback problem with ebay and was just checking in to see if anyone else has had this problem.

I bought an item on the 9th of February and payment cleared by the 14th. I waited 2 weeks and when the item still hadnt arrived i sent a message to the seller. I didnt get any response so i sent another message a few days later. The seller responded saying he had now sent the item (2 weeks after payment had cleared). I was fine with that so i asked him to leave me feedback. He refused and said he doesnt leave feedback until he recieves feedback. I told him that i held up my end of the contract when i payed for the item after the auction ended and i want my positive feedback for doing so. On top of that he now changed his story and claims the post office didnt send out some of his items. He offered me a refund or to have the items sent back out. I promptly accepted the refund.

This is where im getting frusterated. He will not leave me feedback until i leave him some because he knows hes going to get negative feedback from me. This clearly breaks Ebay rules since hes using feedback as leverage and any feedback he leaves in reponse will be retaliatory. However, ive been told and have read Ebay will hardly ever remove feedback even when its not legitimate. Ebay does not in any way regulate feedback unless its unlawful according to their guidelines.

So that brings me to my questions. Has anyone else been in this position and if so what did you do?

I was told by my dad (an Ebay Powerseller with over 3000 100% positive feedback) that theres really nothing i can do exceot just not leave feedback. I dont see how that can be right since he is (i believe) violating Ebay rules (the seller).

Any help would be great. Thanks

Don't delete the won auction thing. In six or so months, he probably will have already deleted his reminder. Then, leave the negative.

    Hey, it's an idea.

Cant do that, 91 days after the auction ends you cant leave feedback. My dad suggested i just wait till the last second and leave him negative feedback but im not to the point i wanna risk it yet.

Feedback is not mandatory, so there is nothing you can do. I don't like it when sellers do that, as I feel the same as you when it comes to being a good buyer. You just need to accept it. At best, you could leave a neutral and hope he still leaves a positive for you.

Just say it was a delightfully pejorative experience. He'll probably never know......

put that in his feedback, bad seller refused feedback to retaliate for this one.

Sure you'll get a neg, but when some one reads your feedback after reading his it will have done more damage to him, and if it's a huge deal, then just change your account. It's not like anyone cares in the 1-100 range anyway.
That or e-mail ebay that they didn't think of everything and they need to put that rate increase into some r&d
oh and post his userID here, so none of us buy from him.
