You guys seem to have a real problem with it - video is retarded, picture is over exposed, soundtrack is crap. May be it is cool on this forum to do that.

About 500,000 people who have seen the photo would disagree. The video is new but had about 2000 hits in the last 12h.

So how about showing me how you are the best in your field of expertise so I can comment?

Dunno. I thought the idea was pretty cool & humorous. And besides, the video of the anti-carjacking device isn't meant to be serious . I like the time delay photos, you did a good job on that. Too bad you couldn't have the still shot overlayed with the video...That would have made the video effects a bit better

I thought the pictures looked cool actually, what I was trying to convey is that I dont think it would be a very good Anti-theft device because there isnt a constant circle of electricity around the car like the picture suggests. Otherwise its pretty neat stuff.

Along those lines, I thought it was really cool. I wish I had the time, motivation, and knowhow to do that. I do not. You are obviously good at what you do. It is a hilarious idea BTW. I should have mentioned that before ripping on your soundtrack choice, which I did not particularly care for.

Fair enough. This of course was never meant as a serious device. The long exposure looks dramatic though and the concept is easy to understand so the photo was popular.
The video does not really make the effect that dramatic, particularly in the relatively bright evening light that I had to shoot in. The video was shot 3 times as the low light ones suffered from severe motion blur, and the black thief couldn't be seen.
I did try (manually) randomly interpolating 100 frames to give a diffuse all round effect but it wasn't convincing.
The soundtrack is not ideal. It needs to have a very fast rock track to go with the 300% speedup of the scenes to give that slapstick Chaplainesque feel. Nothing like that in my usual electronica playlists. At short notice, this is what I came up with. This is the first time I have significantly edited a video and it is a bit of a learning curve. Technically it is amateurish and there is a lot I would change if I were to redo it.

And how did I find you? Follow my hit counter and see what sort of information you can see. Even your internet browser and screen resolution is recorded. I like to follow the links back to see what is goind on. In the last few days it was also featured on a Spanish porn site. They have put me in their crazy guy segment before and it got taken up by several other porn sites as well.

Why do I do this? Mostly to annoy people on a wide spectrum of unrelated forums with bad audio cover tracks.
Seriously, most people start up websites to gain fame rather than fortune I guess. I found that I could document my stuff in a way that I would have a record of it rather than just a loose collection of photos. Some of my stuff turned out better than what other people were doing on the web so the competitiveness is a stimulant for this.
Basically it is fun stuff dealing with powerful forces. More fun than watching TV or a variety of other inane activites (not paintballing of course).
And the other sites. It's kinda strange to see this pic on a Japanese site or a Russian site with 300 comments. Makes for interesting reading from Google translate. (I only read the porn site articles not look at the pictures )
