I don't need to see the sequel of any movie that had a protracted rape scene.
That being said, aside from that it was not that good of a horror movie."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

The originals are better ... then again is that really a surprise lol.

You guys obviously aren't familiar with classic 70s horror. Those movies often didn't go for scary horror, they go for disturbing scenes that shock the audience.
Go check out Last House on the Left, it was one of Wes Craven's first movies. Now theres a disturbing movie.
The Hills Have Eyes remake was a great horror movie. The rape scene was one of the most disturbing scenes ever filmed. I'm not surprised people left the theatre during that scene, but it was definitely a successful scene as far as the writers/director were concerned. No one can watch that part of the movie without having some sort of emotional reaction. Unlike most horror movies, that scene actually does horrify you. Bingo.
I don't have high hopes for Hills Have Eyes II, but I'll probably see it anyway because I'm a sucker for 70's horror.
Go buy House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects while you are at it.

got to agree with Thor and torn here that The Hills was a pretty good horror movie as far as modern horror movies go. BTW i hated house of a 1000 corpses, but for some reason i still want to see devils rejects (but havent yet)
although the sequel looks like trash, i'll wait till it hits DVDComment
